2008 is one week old. This year is of to a rough start. For me that is. Two days before the year ended a drunken customer hit me because I refused to give him a beer. It was a right hook that would knock you out. But because I have a lot of fighting experience this guy did not knock me out. My lip was swollen for a week. Any other week would be okay with me, but this week was the turn of the year. You can’t kiss the girls with a swollen lip.
My tattoo is completely healed. On this picture the tattoo is one minute old. By now it’s not red anymore and the lines are not that dark anymore. It looks just the way I wanted it. No it looks better. This is my first. But I’m not saying my last. My mother is not gonna like that sentence. My mother saw my tattoo when it was one day old. She came here to Holland to be with here sons for the holidays. I put the tattoo the night before my mother came here. I was a little afraid she wouldn’t like it, but she loved it. No matter how old I am, I will always want my mothers approval. Even if she didn’t approve I would still put the tattoo. But it feels better knowing you have your mothers blessings. 
She is and always will be the most important woman in my life.
Wednesday I’m gonna do something I’ve never done before. And something people would never expect me to do. I’m gonna start salsa lessons. A very good friend of mine was looking for a salsa partner that wouldn’t start grabbing her ass. So she asked me. She knows I’m to much of a gentleman to do that. I only hope I don’t dance on her toes with my two left feet. Wish me luck.

Most of my post titles have the name of a movie or song. So I was looking for a movie or song title that has something to do with a tattoo. Yep I have a tattoo. It’s my first one so I’m showing it every chance I get. I put the it on my left upper arm. It’s my name “Rafiek” in a custom designed tribal font. The design was done by my brother. It’s a week old now and almost completely healed.
My brother took pictures while the tattoo was inked in my arm. But he did not give me the pictures yet. As soon as he does I’m putting some of them up here.

Christmas is a time for giving, a time to show love to one another. A time to be good to one another.
Doesn’t this seem to be a bit strange? The whole years nation fight, there is war etc. And once a year there is peace on earth? Isn’t this a bit hypocritical?
Christmas is a Christian holiday, In my opinion the christian thing to do is to work towards peace on earth the whole year long. And don’t give me that crap about “if you want peace be prepared for war”.
My whole live people in world politics have been telling us that the wars are fought to achieve are to maintain peace. I don’t know about you but that sounds like a bunch of crap. Peace is never achieved with weapons. If you don’t believe me take a look at world history. Every war in history ever started is about expanding the own nation or to achieve “peace”.
Now look at our history and look at the people who achieved peace even for a small group, state or nation. Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandi. They both achieved there goals of peace and independence without using weapons. Martin Luther King got his inspiration from Ghandi, a non-christian non violent leader. Yes I know it is difficult to not to use violence when others use it against you. I can’t. If someone hits me I hit him back much harder. Yes I myself use violence when it’s used against me. That’s why I look up to Martin Luther King and Mahatma Ghandi, they used non-violence. I admire that but can’t do it myself.
So far a non-christian leader has inspired a christian leader to use non-violence to achieve what christians want to have/achieve/celebrate once a year.
In my opinion the best thing to do is to try to achieve peace on earth the whole year long. And using weapons is not a way to achieve this. If we do achieve peace we can celebrate this achievement every christmas.
So all I want for christmas is for people to think about how to achieve real peace on earth not only wish for it.

In a previous post I mentioned I would buy a scale and put a graphic of my weight on the weblog. Well I did. Today I bought the scale and the graphic function is working perfectly. For the moment you will not the graphic, because for it to work we need at least 2 values. So from next Monday you will see the graphic, I hope the value is going down.
For the people who want to want to follow my progress I made a static page in which the graphic is shown, and a few highlights in the process.
I stepped on the scale and my weight is…….. 95.5 kilogram.
I know that is way to much. But to be honest I am relieved, I thought it would be more.
So next week I will step on my scale again and you will see a graphic with downward value.

I keep postponing he redesign of my main website. Now I’m gonna force myself to work on it.
I’ve made a complete backup of my site, of everything on my server. Even the databases. I took the site off. Delete every thing EXCEPT a few files and folders needed for other projects.
