Because this is a redesign of an excisting site I can skip a few steps.
If I was developing a new site I would have to take the following steps.
- Understanding wat the target audience for the site.
- Understanding the message I want to bring to the target audience.
- Deciding what kind of scripts I want to use in the site. And why.
- Designing the site. The design has to correspont with the target audience and the message. For example. If you want a macho heavy metal site, you do not make a design that includes pink bunnies.
- Developing the site. Including the scripts etc.
- Testing.
- Testing.
- Testing.
- Launching the site.
In my case I already know the target audience and my message. All I have to do is:
- Deciding what scripts to use.
- Designing the site.
- Developing the site.
- Testing
- Testing
- Migrating the data from the old site.
- Testing
- Testing
- Launching the site.
Piece of cake.
